COMING SOON!
Hi everyone! I am so excited to announce that my print edition of Vegan Comfort Foods From Around The World is ALMOST ready! It has been a huge learning process for me and I’ve had multiple people help me on this project from editing to formatting to design. Since I’m not going the traditional route (like trying to find a big publishing house to work with) I can do things a little differently. By self publishing I can decide on the quality and content of each book and offer you a fully colored printed book with photos for EVERY recipe instead of just for some. This recipe book has exactly the same recipes in my ebook version, the only thing that has changed is the cover and the layout.
Some of you have been begging for me to come out with a printed recipe book and because Vegan Comfort Foods sells so well in ebook form I was able to take a risk and get it designed and printed. So I wanted to thank you all for your support!
I’d like to get your feedback on what you think of this design as well and do a special launch contest for you in return.
*Contest* – Win A Copy Of Vegan Comfort Foods From Around The World
Just comment below and tell me what you think of the design and why you would like to win a copy. I’ll select one lucky winner from all the comments and mail you a copy of Vegan Comfort Foods as soon as it’s printed. (Please don’t enter any address or shipping information in your comment, I will contact you for those details if you win, just provide a working email address)
Here’s the beautiful back cover I had designed.

I have been really enjoying the recipes from your site! I’m new to the veagn way of eating and cooking and your advise and recipes are really helping me along the way.
Love the design of the book! The pictures are awesome!! Can’t wait for it to come out in print!! And maybe I’ll win a copy?! Either way I’ll be getting one. Thanks, Veronica!
Kristi
I love the design and the recipes look delicious! There’s such a wide variety and would love to expand the recipes I use.
Al
Hi Veronica,
Well done!!!! I have the ebook and this is truly going in a different direction of presentation that is a smart move. Lots of folks like a hard copy and this one is a winner.
The pictures line up with the recipes, and the overall presentation is professional, and easy to follow.
Your recipes are as stared “low-fat vegan” and you have used this medium of a hard copy to enhance your passion to share healthy meals.
I appreciate what you have done and I know that this hard copy will go far for you.
Can.t wait to make gifts of this hard copy.

First, I love your recipes. I have tried several and look forward to trying more. I love the look of the cookbook – front and back cover. If I had to find one small thing to suggest, I would recommend altering the picture of the mac ‘n cheese to not show the part that has been scooped out. Other than that, I love the food pictures and the back. I like your “about the author” part and love the testimonial on the bottom. I know my son will want me to try making the mac’ n cheese recipe soon.
Low Fat Vegan Chef Veronica Grace
Hi Penny
Since it’s a breaded mac and cheese if I did not take a scoop out of it to show what it looks like inside the entire thing is just white breadcrumbs in a white dish, it’d be impossible to identify for someone who was unfamiliar with the recipe. I have finalized the design already.
Thank you
valerie belle
Hi! Just putting in my two cents. I’m not a vegan but I would like to incorporatesome of the lifestyle principles to become healthyand stay that way! I have lost almost 70 pounds and I will say the cover looks as good as any advertisement for temptation and endulgence! Lol
andrea
I have tried some of Veronica’s other recipes…Savoury Raw Foods…and was so impressed. I repeat many of the recipes because they are so great. Esp the bar-b-que sauce! I always have it in the fridge. Its a great go to sauce for practically anything.
I have been raw off and on, but lately have been following a low fat, plant based starch diet…like McDougall. I have a lot of raw recipes, but I am looking for low fat recipes to play with and treat my friends. I am sure (if I win this book!) I can share the recipes with close friends and encourage them to have a book that they too can use. The healthy chain will continue…more and more people will be aware that they can have optimal health and great food at the same time. Veronica, you are a blessing for sure!! I think you should have your own cooking reality show soon…Andrea
Veronica Grace
Thanks Andrea! Maybe I’ll start on youtube first lol

Congrats on the new book. We became vegan early Feb. my niece gave me your website and I really enjoy all of the hints, recipes and great advice and support. You have helped to make our transition to a healthier lifestyle very easy. Thanks!!
Stephen
Looking forward to this cookbook. My wife just came to me today and said she needs to lose weight. After major back surgery, followed by melanoma, that turned out to be non-cancerous, she has put on some weight (her words, not mine). I told her I have some great recipes that are low fat and vegan and will get her back on track and drop some of those unwanted pounds she is concerned about.
Pam Vozza
I was actually really excited to see this book as you don’t often hear the words “comfort food” and “vegan” together! You did a really good job showcasing photographs that truly make the mouth water! I’m definitely one of those people who prefers to see how the dish is supposed to look & am motivated to try making a new recipe if it looks delicious (and your’s definitely do!) Already shared with my veggie friends that this book is coming out… would love to win a copy so I could tell them all about why they need to buy one for themselves, lol 🙂
Allie
Love all the yummy looking photos!!! I love trying out new nom noms!:)S
Catherine Johnston
I love the look of this cookbook, and it’ll look great in my collection! The cover is truly beautiful, but more importantly, I know that the contents will be even more wonderful. I’ve been following you since I discovered one of your delicious recipes on the Forks Over Knives website. I became vegan in January of this year and haven’t looked back! Your website and Facebook page help keep me inspired and trying new recipes and foods. I enjoy your upbeat attitude and positive way of thinking, it translates really well on the internet (not an easy task sometimes, lol). I love that you have so many recipes for raw foods. Previously I thought eating raw foods meant snacking on a chopped red pepper or a carrot with some hummus. Now I know there can be so, so much more to it. I hope you keep up the work you do for many years to come. 🙂
Catherine Johnston
I should say “it’ll look great in my collection” if I win it, and if I don’t I’ll likely purchase it anyway. 🙂
Veronica Grace
Thank you Catherine. I try to be very positive and upbeat in my online writing because I want people to be excited and positive about their attitude to healthy food. Truly it is a joy to be able to do what I do and help people wherever they are. I’m glad you like some of the vegetable based raw food recipes. I don’t consider vegetable trays a raw food dish, they’re just part of a healthy diet!
LAURA HOUNSLEY
DEAR VERONICA, MY HUSBAND HAS HAD SOME MAJOR HEART ISSUES OVER THE LAST 3 YEARS, SO IT IS NECESSARY FOR US TO COOK CLEAN AND LEAN. YOU ARE ONE OF THE ONLY VEGAN CHEFS TO KEEP AWAY FROM THE DEADLY OIL! THANK YOU. NOW, THE REASON I REAAAALY NEED A PRINTED BOOK = MY COMPUTER IS SO OLD AND THERE IS NO MEMORY ROOM TO DOWNLOAD ANY OF YOUR E-BOOKS 🙁 I LOVE ALL THE STUFF YOU HAVE MADE AVAILABLE ON THE INTERNET AND REALLY APPRECIATE IT, AND I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE PRINTED VERSION! BRING IT!
Steve
Great work, Veronica! The front and back covers look great! I especially like that the front cover isn’t plastered with complicated foods; at first glance, I saw foods that I can honestly say I eat at least once a month (meat version of course, for the time being); meatloaf, pasta, the BBQ sandwich (?), tacos, and what appears to be enchiladas (?). It’s hard not to judge a book by its cover; but let’s face reality, if it looks complicated, unless you’re a spatula wielding galloping gourmet, complicated just plain puts you off from picking up the book to see what’s inside. I didn’t get the “put off” feeling at all. Also, the food pictures cover a variety of foods from the traditional dinner to quick, “let’s wrap these together and eat with our hands” dishes; it looks user friendly. I love that recipes are multicultural; I enjoy trying new foods, and this book seems to cover quite a bit for a nice rounded food experience (without the meat and very low to no fats–which is absolutely great!). And the back cover; you’re absolutely gorgeous (I mean the back cover is gorgeous!). It’s awesome that you’ve been able to put your passion into your work, and I would love to be a contest winner. Both my wife and I have been trying for some time to cut meats and try a more natural diet for weight loss, trying to reduce my hypertension, stress reduction, and just plain feeling better for both of us and our three kids. Keep up the great work and the very best of wishes for your continued growth and success!
Veronica Grace
This is an awesome quote “unless you’re a spatula wielding galloping gourmet” lol! Thanks for sharing. The recipes on the front cover are from top left to right:
Herbed Lentil Loaf with Miso Tahini Gravy
Black Bean and Yam Enchiladas
Meatless Sloppy Joes
Baked Butternut Squash Mac and Cheezy
Fettuccine Alfredo with Chanterelle Mushrooms and Spinach
Black Bean & Corn Tacos
Gina
Hi Veronica,
Congratulations on the book! I would like to win because of health reasons. Although I follow a vegan diet, my cholesterol is high (total and LDL). I have a disability which limits my mobility and a family history of cardiovascular disease. I thought I was relatively healthy until a recent series of tests. The cardiologist looked at my lab work, test results and family history and told me to “cut back on the red meat and cheese”. This is funny because when I first began a vegan lifestyle, my doctors were freaking out!
Now, about your book. I really like the front cover design and photos. I like the quote from Margo Smith (should I know her?) on the back cover. The recipes seem easy to follow. What I would change is the photo page on the “Chapters” section. I would outline each photo as you have on the cover, and I would include different photos than the cover shots.
Thanks for the opportunity to preview this book 🙂
Veronica Grace
Margo is just a lovely customer who sent me her testimonial and it was very encouraging so I printed it on the book.
Jan
Congratulations on releasing a real-paper cookbook! I’m really excited about your cookbook! The recipes in the book look amazing and healthy! My husband and I are solidly on the road to plant strong recovery thanks to Forks over Knives. We have both lost about 40 pounds so far since the beginning of the year. We have enjoyed many of the recipes that you’ve shared online and I would really use your cookbook. I still have about 80 pounds to lose so having a collection of great recipes is really important. Good Luck with the launch of your cookbook and keep sharing – you are impacting people like me and my husband and those who see what this way of eating is doing for us and getting on board! Blessings!
Jershonda
This is amazing. I have struggled with maintaining a vegan diet since I read “Forks over Knives”- so hard to break old habits. But I’m committed!
As a physician the medical benefits are clear but it’s sad that many physicians cannot support their families and patients who choose a vegan diet, many even discourage it. This print copy would be an excellent addition to my library of books that I can share with patients while encouraging a healthy lifestyle. So many of my teenage patients try to transition to a mostly vegan diet but don’t have the support of their family because no one knows what to cook. Your books are perfect for these families and myself. This book is a perfect example of how to make yummy, low fat recipes and embrace healthy eating!! Best of luck to the winner.
Low Fat Vegan Chef Veronica
Wow Jershonda, yes I totally agree. I am thrilled to know that you are trying help get the word out on eating plant based to your patients. That’s amazing. I hope to help you and your patients enjoy healthy home made meals that will help to achieve your goals.
Audrey Campbell
I didn’t read any other comments so I wouldn’t influence my opinion. I think the cover is very professional and the colors are soothing yet sunny! When I look to buy something like a cookbook I look to see how professional it seems. The photos look yummy and I spent a whole afternoon looking through your site to see if I could find the spinach dish on the cover! Everything looks super yummy.
Low Fat Vegan Chef Veronica
Do you mean the Fettuccine Alfredo with Chanterelle Mushrooms and Spinach? That’s the recipe with spinach on the cover. Sorry it is not on the website, all of my best recipes are kept for my recipe books. But I hope you can enjoy it soon by purchasing the book. It’s one of my favorite recipes and my mom likes to make it for dinner parties.
madison Hadley
This looks beautiful and super appetizing! great job on the cover, it makes me hungry. I’m 16 and I have been vegan for over a year now. I’m not a great cook but it would mean a lot to me if I had your book and could learn to make some quick easy healthy meals, especially for when i go to collage and wont have my mom cook dinner every night. I would love to win! my mom became vegan just before me when she stumbled across some books such as forks over knives and then told me the health and environmental benefits to becoming vegan so I saw no reason to hurt animals especially if they were so unhealthy. since then we have watched several documentaries and i have read a few book and done a research paper on veganism for school. I try to spread the word and relate to others the benefits that I learned and explain how most things the food industries say you need aren’t actually nutritionally beneficial and are destroying our planet. I subscribed to your recipe a week and enjoy getting emails from you. I can’t wait to try some of your recipes and share them with my mom. I hope many more are introduced to veganism and realize how delicious being healthy, sustainable, and cruelty free can be. thanks for writing this book and helping give people recipes to make vegan cooking easier, you are a true inspiration.
Tania
Wow. I love this style. I am really thankful for you and others who put your time and talents in to help the rest of us. The only thing I can say is after several attempts at feeding my man and 5 kids healthier, I can use all the help I can get. I had almost got us close to vegetarian but taking out the meat and all the things like mayonaise, ketchup, chicken bouillon, and cheese- wow. It was too much for them! They use to say I was a good cook but now they dread what I come up with!
Andryea Grazier
So awesome! I hope I win, I hope I win, I hope I win!
Just started being Vegan two months ago and have such a different outlook from before. I’m a diabetic, while also have high blood pressure and I am off almost all my medication and making things for friends, families and even my eye doctor and her staff. Loving life is good when you know it’s better every day!
Judy Benvenuto
Congratulations on the book! So excited for you!
The format looks very user friendly and I love the pictures!
I’m one of those people who like to hold a cookbook in my hand and make notes about what I like about the recipes. Your vegan recipes are just what this struggling healthy eater needs.
Thanks and best of luck.
Jasmin
Hi I really love the idea of a printed book. I enjoy all recipes. I’m from Paraguay I hope my inglish is understandable.
Heather
YUM! I am embracing the vegan lifestyle and it has been hard to find low-fat recipes as well as the comfort foods that my kids so desperately want. Thank you,
I cannot wait to try ALL of them!
Jacinth Dunkley
I was diagnose with Diabetes about 4years now so I have to watch my diet, I don’t really have a fixed diet but eating properly is very important to my health and having your book to take with me where ever I may be cooking friends, family or Church would be very handy and helpful. Your recipes are easy to prepare and very healthy.
Thanks for sharing your great tasty and healthy recipes with us
Jacinth
Michelle
I really enjoy the emails & while I also had trouble viewing some of the pages/pics like a few others did..I like the cover & back pg & as someone who has been a long time vegetarian (20+yrs), originally going vegan back then in Calgary, & not having much support, or any options in this town.. I’m looking forward to having access to a resource & cook-book like this, so I can transition back to vegan in a healthy & safe manner..& not have to give up those comfort foods that I often crave!
And I also prefer a book format, I love books & think that while online has some perks, a cookbook is a tangible, physical thing, to be held, & shared & felt & beside you in the kitchen!
Susan
The design looks great! I would love to win a copy! I’m always looking for healthy vegan recipes.
Jennifer Holliday
Hi Veronica! I have followed your website and products for quite a while and love your recipes. As I’m expecting I would LOVE to add some healthy comfort foods to my recipes and the ones you’ve included look so yummy. I can’t wait to try the mac and cheese or the yam burritos, yum! 🙂
Moriah Crawford
Hi Veronica! I LOVE your recipes and have been waiting for a hard copy book. I don’t have any device right now to get e-books on. I’ve been printing out your recipes at the library… Anyway, this is great and I can’t wait to get one!
The pages you posted are beautiful. Thanks for sharing your recipes, I have really enjoyed making (and eating ) them!
Moriah

Hi Veronica, love the cover of you new book as it has cooked comfy foods to go along with lots of raw veggies which we know are vital for our health, the cover says it all.
I would like to have the book because your recipes are all awesome, that I’ve tried so far and I’m sure the recipes included in this book would be delicious as well.
Thanks for all the encouragement you’ve given us.

Congrats Veronica on your new book which looks amazing from the photos on the front and then containing all of your amazing recipes as well . You are doing an amazing job with encouraging people to eat not only more healthy but also more
compassionately for the beautiful animals around us and for Mother earth as well .

Hi Veronica,
I am so excited about your new book. I cook alot of Indian food but since I became vegan I don’t want to eat all the oils that indian recipes normally start off with.
I get most of my recipes from Dr. Fuhrman but feel like I need something a little different.
I have tried experimenting with my own recipes but usually fall back to just eating salads and soups…very boring.
Just can’t wait to read your new book!
Barbara Joshi
Hi Veronica,
I am very excited to read your new book and try out some of your recipes. I cook alot of Indian food but after becoming vegan, I don’t want to eat all the oils that most indian recipes start off with.
I feel like I have hit a wall…I’m tired of eating soups and salads. I would love to have some new ideas. Most of my recipes until now have come from Dr. Fuhrman, and as much as I like his recipes, I feel like I need some new ideas.
Looking forward to seeing your book!
amy
hi.
You are singularly the only person, who’s e-mails I never delete because I know I will miss good advice and good recipes. I NEED your book. I live in beef country and this is my only way to stay in contact with others of a like mind! Anytime I get the opportunity, I will share a recipe with people who are interested in changing their ways! Your comfort foods are ideal for sharing. The book looks great but the content is what I’m after. Thanks for taking the time and sharing good news.
Low Fat Vegan Chef Veronica
Wow thank you Amy! I’m so happy you enjoy my weekly emails. I try to be as helpful as possible for my readers. I also live in the middle of beef country in Canada, so I know how you feel!
Norma
Bonjour Veronica,
Your new paper book looks WOW!! and the recipes even look better ! What I especially appreciate is to cook without fat, because we know that heated oil or other fats is not healthy. You have done an amasing work to get all those good recipes. And we need new recipes to keep on being raw and healthy. I would really enjoy having your book for those reasons. Thank you very much.
sarah robinson
I like all the photos on front – my favorite part of cookbooks! Also the list on back is useful – like a mini table of contents.
Maggie Gruss
Veronica – I love the look of the cover on your book – makes everything look so good and healthy. Also like the name Comfort Foods – something we are looking for. I have a couple of your e-books but prefer a book to flip through. Everythiing I’ve tried of yours has been excellant. I have been a vegan since 9/12 and have lost 35 pounds – still struggling with LDL. I would love to win a copy of your new book as I am always looking for new delicious recipes from a reliable source.
HC
I’m so looking forward to your book! Seems like many vegan cookbooks I encountered always have a lot of “healthy fats” that I’m trying to avoid because of its high calorie dense. My family has a history of high cholesterol/triglyceride and I’m looking more into healthier, low fat, high nutrient foods. Your book seems to be just what the doctor would order 🙂
Robin
Looks amazing and its making me hungry! Cannot wait to start cooking vegan!!! I have been a vegetarian for 28 years, ready to take it to the next level! Thanks for your help!!!
Kimberly
I am a dietitian for 54 group homes for the disabled. We are looking for healthy recipes for our consumers. We would love to receive a free cookbook.
Lonnie Miller
I love the format of your book. The pictures are beautiful, and enticing! Including dips and international foods is a treat, because we can offer healthy, familiar foods to our omnivore guests and still hear compliments about how great the food tastes! I no longer own a catering company, but still enjoy cooking as a ministry and help with charities frequently. I would love to win a copy of your book so I can continue to expand my knowledge of vegan cooking and continue my own quest for health after recovery from cancer. I feel that low-fat vegan eating is a way to heal and restore one’s body. It’s an act of love when we are cooking for others.
Marissa
I think the book looks great! All the foods sound sooo yummy! I look forward to trying out some recipes!
Debbie Rieger
Veronica,
Your book looks amazing! I recently found you after viewing a you tube video of Dr. Furhman . I was fascinated with what he was sharing and wanted to jump in with both feet, but I felt I needed a coach to help me transition into the Vegan lifestyle. Then I ran across your offer to sign up for your newsletter and get a free recipe each week. Now with the release of your new cookbook, I will be able to transition into the Vegan lifestyle and make meals interesting enough to want to continue to eat this way. What a blessing you are.
Thank you for all the hours you’ve spent trying, testing and perfecting these recipes which you are now sharing with all of us.
Cyndi
I love the earthy look – We use the fruits, vegetables and grains gifted to us from the Earth so it compliments well!
Veganism is still a relatively new thing for me.
I maintained 801010 eating a high raw diet, but find it harder to stick to low fat in cooked foods… And your lovely book looks like just the answer.
I’d love to hold a copy in my hands and salivate over all your glorious recipes!
Claudia
Hi Veronica,
Great idea to publish this great book also as a “real” book. I purchased your ebook and everything that I have cooked so far tasted absolutely delicious. Having a picture with every recipe is great, I love recipes with pictures. As a matter of fact, I would never buy a cook book that doesn’t have any pictures at all. I hope I will be the lucky one and win your book.
Claudia
Naomi
Hi Veronica, congratulations on your hard cover recipe book – it looks as great as the food from your recipes taste!
You have singlehandedly changed and saved my life – I found you per chance when looking for vegan recipes when I was diagnosed with GERD.
Since using your weekly email recipes and reading your blogs I am a new person – healthier, happier and so deliciously fed! Thank you so much.
So the cherry ( fat free of course!!!) on top for me, will be (hopefully) winning a copy your stylish new book.
Should I not be that lucky person I will still be lucky enough and privileged to be able to use your healthy, delicious, easy to make, clearly explained recipes for which I say THANK YOU.
Kind Regards
Naomi
Low Fat Vegan Chef Veronica
Hi Naomi
I am so happy to help! Thank you for telling me your story.
Kamna Choudhry
Dear Veronica, I really love your design for the book cover as it looks so refreshing and inviting, specially the green color for the background with colorful, mouthwatering recipe photos which would definitely make one want to wipe them off in a go.It is going to rock ! and create many more vegans! And those of us who thought vegans don’t have much choices ,need to think twice. I live in a small town of India and there are not any big bookstores selling these kind of books. Recently, my doctor practicing Ayurveda advised me to abstain from all dairy products considering my severe osteoarthritis . Since then I have been hunting around for such recipes and then one day I came across your site and I said lo, this is what I need . I have found your recipes to be great . I would love to win your book and treasure it. It is going to benefit me a lot . Besides, I think by dishing out these recipes I am going to convert my family and friends into vegan too. Thanks and best of luck!
Low Fat Vegan Chef Veronica
I love Indian cuisine, but it’s only downfall is the large amounts of butter, cream and paneer in the recipes. I have several healthier variations of Indian classics in the book. I hope you won’t mind that they are a little Westernized but healthy and delicious nonetheless.
Kamna Choudhry
Hi Veronica , yes there is an abundance of butter, cream etc. in some Indian dishes but only in restaurant style recipes and these are the ones like butter chicken, shahi paneer, dal makhani which have been popularized in the international market too. Otherwise, what we normally cook at home is not so oily and cream based. Of course, discretion rules .I cook my white gourd , some lentils without oil too. I would love to share Indian recipes with you if you would like. I am sure you would take them to a higher level for us all low fat vegan lovers. It is a pleasure to receive your recipes weekly. Thanks for all the hard work and research.
Cathleen
The green smoothie I had for dinner seems sadly lacking as I look at your thoroughly yummy book cover photos! Yum yum! We have been living the vegan lowfat way for a year now….we love it. Can’t wait to dive into your lovely cookbook!
Katrina Conlan
I am 19 now, and have been transitioning into what is finally a raw vegan diet since I was 15. Which I didn’t even know about vegetarian, raw vegan,80 10 10 or vegan then. But this year I found out what kind of lifestyle I officially want to live. I first started with a “dirty” feeling after working and eating plates & plates of meat and deep fried foods at 15 and under. Then I slowly started cutting out junk foods month by month after quitting that job. Meats, junk foods, sugar, prepackaged then dairy. And I still didn’t know what kind of lifestyle this was that i was living. Except only eating in abundance what made me feel peace & serenity. That I wasn’t causing harm to the planet or animals. Then after a visit to the supermarket I picked up a free copy of “Viva Magazine.” Let’s just say that was just the beginning ?& realization at the kind of lifestyle I was living. The transitioning took a total of 4 years because I was transitioning from a beyond SAD diet to vegan unsupported and alone without the Internet. Just this year I have been using the Internet for support. As I am without a job & income. I would love to win your book so I can go deeper into the vegan/raw vegan life and share the food I make with my family. And your design and layout gives me a peaceful feeling. It’s very clean and precise. Oh, and I love multi cultural foods. Thank you bye.
Be Ching
The pictures are look sooo.. tempting and real. It’s going to encourage me to be a vegan if I win the book!! I can easily tell my friends, “Who says vegan food don’t look tempting?”
Thanks for the good job, dear.
lydi
design-brown and green.brown-denotes the soil from where we get the vegs(green).also green denotes vegan .so I love the design which has itself a meaning of the contents inside the book. also hope it will surely bring an awareness among us who read also the additional tips will help to share it with others.all the best.GOD bless your work.
Eva Marie Cramer
I feel that your cookbook is just perfect as is. You have done a wonderful and beautiful job. I will be waiting to order one. Thank you for all of your hard work.
Clara Mae Watrous
Hi Veronica,
It’s so nice to see a vegan recipe book that is low in fat! Most of the vegan raw recipes I’ve seen are full of nuts or other fats. Also, I’m glad to see someone realize that we need some cooked foods as well as raw. Hurrah for you!
The book cover makes me drool and want to make all the recipes. It’s so easy to get into a rut, and your book solves that dilemma. The back cover is great as well.
If I win the book, for sure I would like to share the dishes with others, show them the book, and let them know where they can get it. It’s harder to do that with an e-book.
Blessings,
Clara Mae
Joelle
Awesome!! I LOVE cookbooks that I can decorate my counters and shelves with and be able to just whip it out when I want to find something to cook; it beats looking on the computer anyday! Thanks for doing this!

Love the front cover! What’s missing from the back cover are the TESTIMONIALS! You need the reviews from the Esselstyns, Campbells, Fuhrmans, MacDougalls, Ornishes, and/or Barnards, all the giants in the field, to endorse your collection of recipes, which truly belong next to or with any of the recipes in their books. Hook up with those guys, establish and cement those relationships, and you’ve got it made in the shade. Or, you know, I’m the original Low Fat Vegan Dentist, and I’d be happy to give you a review/testimonial, if you’d only give me an autographed copy of your book! Thanks for your inspiration,
Dr. Doug Callow
the original Low Fat Vegan dentist
Low Fat Vegan Chef Veronica
Thanks Doug. I’m not well known enough to get testimonials from everyone. So far only the McDougall’s promote my recipes. 🙂 I hope to grow my business with print books in the future! If I lived in the USA I could send autographed books, but I live in Canada and they will be printed and shipped in the USA.

Congrats V, on your ‘new’ book!
Already have it in ebook format but as I’ve never really taken to the whole virtual-book thing, I find I just don’t get it out. What I did instead, was to copy some of my favourite Comfort Foods (and Comfort Soups/Smoothies/Salad Dressings) recipes into my recipe notebook. I work from there – which is rather a sad waste of your photographic/guidance skills, don’t you think…
Am looking forward to the print version so I can read it cover-to-cover (have a slight obsession with good recipe books) and then dip into it at whim. Would much rather be choosing and making your recipes with your actual guidance there in front of me.
Love the layout. Crossing my fingers the book will be spiral-bound – or at least with a super-flexible spine to make it stay open on the kitchen bench:)
Low Fat Vegan Chef Veronica
Oh Em that does sound sad! I hope you will enjoy the print book when it comes out. I can’t have it spiral bound, any book that is to be sold in a bookstore has to have a spine for title information and the high quality printer I’m using does not offer spiral bound books anyway. I wanted the book to be able to be ordered by book stores all over the world as well so it has to be printed this way.
Em
No problem – I’ll take it anyway I can get it – spiral-bound or no:)
Melissa Burford
The book looks great. I’d love to win a copy because I am trying to cook without fat (or at least greatly reduced) and I have some of your other products but there is just something about having a book and one of my favorite things to do is sit in my big comfy chair with a cookbook, pad of paper and a pen and make out a menu and grocery list so getting a physical copy of your book would be a pure delight.
I’m so happy that you are making a hard copy of it. Congratulations!!
Bess
I would like to win this cookbook because I am interested in cooking more vegan dishes. I think my family would enjoy comfort foods over more unusual dishes since they are hesitant to eating new foods. I was only able to see the front and back covers on my computer for some reason- and they look fantastic! The pictures are very appealing!
kevin
Wow! Would I like to win your new cook book have had your e-book from day one and many of your recipes are my staples. I have been a meat eater all of my life and only became a vegan on my last birthday which makes me a vegan for only 10 months wish I would have done this when I was 25 years old. That would have been 50 years ago. Thank you Veronica
Grumpy old man no more kevin
Low Fat Vegan Chef Veronica
Hi Kevin,
You made me laugh, my grandpa is eating a more vegan diet and his nickname is “Grumpa”. I’m happy that you are grumpy no more! 🙂
Wanda Johnson
I love the design and size of this cookbook. I love cookbooks and probably have over 100. That sounds awesome doesn’t it? Well to anyone on the SAD way of eating and someone that loves to cook, it is! The only thing is…the end of January, my husband and I did a 21 day raw reset cleanse in hopes to clean toxins from our body. Neither of us knew anything about raw vegan but figured it’s only 21 days so we tried it. Wow! After the first week, we noticed how much energy we had and our normal aches and pains were going away. We were hooked! Then the weight started coming off…oh yeah! We weren’t really doing this for weight loss but weren’t complaining about that extra perk. Well today marks 90 days ago that we started raw vegan and wow! We feel great. After the cleanse, we have remained vegan and about 90% raw vegan. Being new to this and a cookbook junkie…I have no vegan cookbooks to put in my hands and cook from. All are e-books and on my phone. Very hard to follow a recipe when you constantly have to keep pushing a button to make the phone light up again because it times out. I would love to win a copy but in the event I don’t, I will be ordering one! Thanks for what you do!

Eileen
Well done Veronica,
I’ve looked at the recipes and there are so many I would try, especially to get my kids to go vegan too (they are young….my eldest is only 10). Love your work and would love your book!
Stay well, Eileen.
Anthea
Green green…the colour of healing, life and abundance. Exactly what your ebook means to me… I’ve tried so many of the recipes and absolutely love every one, but there’s nothing like a good old-fashioned book to hold in your hands and have opened on the kitchen bench as you whip up your creations. I’ll often print off recipes, but its a hassle to have to look for them on the ebook. Much easier in a book with lovely pics.
Louis van Dyk
What a wonderful idea! The size is perfect so you can see the pictures and the instructions clearly while in the kitchen. No problem with a tablet or phone getting messed up with ingredients as it switches off the screen as you need to read the next instriction!! With 8×10 it should stay open too and not close on you.
Why I need it? I recently got my wife to agree that Vegan was the healthiest way to eat, and that it would assist me in losing my rather ample bodyfat, but she really battles with what to make for supper now – she needs inspiration. She hates having to go online for things and would be more likely to make something from a book than an electronic device. So I beg you … for my health and weight’s sake … pick me!
Diana Caron
Veronica.
I am so pleased to hear about the book as follow up to your successful ebook . I am an old fashioned tactile reader and this pleases me to no end that I will now be able to hold these inspired recipes in my hands and have good old fashioned photos to support the content. Your cover is great with great visual balance of layout and color . I would keep the back cover simpler – the old” less is more” approach . How about a picture of you “prepping or plating” anyone of those appealing and yummy recipes.
Good luck with your launch
Low Fat Vegan Chef Veronica
Hi Diana
I don’t have anyone to take photos of me, so I have to take all the photos myself. And my kitchen it tiny and nothing I would want to put on a book! lol
Ana
i think the design is really nice and i would enjoy a lot to have that book because i really like your recipes
LiANA
Drool Drool. I am totally visually entranced and can’t wait to taste those yummy looking receipes. Who would think that healthy could be tastey!

Congratulation, I’m happy for you, the book looks wonderful!! Thank you for helping me with my vegan journey, you ebooks have been very helpful!!

I would love to win a copy of your book as I am struggling with A liver problem and diabetes.Even if i don’t win I will be purchasing a copy as soon as it becomes available I have been a vegan for 3 years but fell off the fat wagon as I like to say at Christmas.Had to go back on insulin and proceeded to gain 25 pounds back of the 85 I had lost.Looking for some Delicious recipes as my husband is not liking the food I am preparing lately and is going back to eating meat when we go out.I need your help! Love your blog!
Jean
Hi veronica,
Your first book looks amazing. Thanks for including lots of photos. I would love a copy. I have no plant based cook books yet.
Lynn Boutette
I would like to order one when it comes out.
alexandra
Love this..congratulations..I like all the pictures on the front as it shows how appealing and tasty these dishes come out. The writing on the back, and from what I can see in the book, is easy to read which is important for younger and older audiences alike 🙂 Great job! I don’t have a crazy or heartwarming/heartwrenching story to share as to why I want to win..I just want to :p But if I win, I would set up a blog where I make at least two recipes a week from your book and talk about them! Like a Julia and Julia type deal…hmm..yeahh..pick me, pick me!
Lucy Bryant
Hi Veronica,
Wow!! I love that you have made a hard copy cookbook! I actully read cookbooks from cover to cover like a novel.
I first discovered you on Dr. McDougall’s website and have since signed up to receive your newsletter. I have made your Baked Butternut Squash Mac & Cheezy and was blown away with the flavor. So I can’t wait to try more recipies from you.
I hope you will consider me to win a copy of your new cookbook . I have no special story, I am just trying to eat healthy with oil-free delicious vegan recipes.
I wish you the best Veronica and I look forward to trying more of your recipes.
Kind Regards,
Lucy
Brella
Dear Veronica,
Your unique, easy recipes are beautiful and delicious! These are very important elements for someone new to healthy, low-fat vegan food. It’s helpful that your recipes complement the scientific research and instruction of Drs. Diehl, McDougall and Fuhrman, and reach out to many people who are familiar with these doctors’ work. Thank you for making this cookbook available in book form with photos for each recipe. There’s no substitute for being able to hold an actual book in your hands!
Just a suggestion for the cover of your cookbook: Change the hunter green on the front cover and back cover to a more vibrant shade of green (like the green onions in the photo at top center of the front cover), or some shade of orange, or…you get the idea! This will look cheerful and alive, grabbing people’s attention quickly! I really liked the cover on your e-book “Comfort Soups” because it had this quality.
Thank you for all of your hard work, time, and effort to provide instruction and make this cookbook with many photos available to us. Your style has created the simplest, easiest to prepare, healthiest, and most eye-appealing, whole food, truly low-fat, vegan food I have seen…anywhere! Great job, Veronica!
Amanda
I work at our local health food store and I LOVE sharing information about healthy eating and lifestyles with all my customers! Most people are under the impression that if they elimanate meat from their diet they will starve!!! Not so as we know! It would be a great item to sell as well!
Emma Hawes
Great design, I’m looking forward to getting my hands on this book whether I win or not 🙂 I’m always after new ideas to tempt my husband over to the low-fat vegan side!
Lindy
Dear Veronica…..Sooooo excited!!! My son age 21 is Vegan…so I am getting on board with him as is my hubby! Our next house party will be a challenge for all my guests as I am having a totally Vegan get-together and have given them the task of making a Vegan recipe for the party! Of course, with this cookbook mine would be the best!!! Thank you, thank you—there just aren’t enough Vegan cookbooks out there, thank you for also encouraging everyone…saving coronary arteries and hopefully getting rid of animal cruelty!!! Lindy 🙂
Christy
It looks wonderful! The pictures are amazing, and the front cover is beautiful. I’d love to win this book because I’d love to have some low fat vegan recipes to make for a sinless indulgence 🙂
Melissa
First off the book looks totally amazing. I hate picking up a cookbook and just seeing words on the page. I love having colourful pictures of what the final product will look like and not only have you done this, but your photos are beautiful. I would love a copy because I live with four people who are not vegan and it is hard getting hem to eat vegan meals, let alone make them. But with meals that look this fantastic how could they turn it down? And if the book is on hand they might be willing to make some themselves!
Jackie Gerber
I subscribe to your email newsletter and love the fact that you create vegan meals. I have saved, printed, and read all of the recipes but I have not made any of them yet. The reason I would love to have a print book is that it would actually save me time as the recipes would all be together and I would be able to make a new dinner everynight after having to be away from home for 12 hours a day working.
Thank you for your wonderful recipes and wealth of wonderful knowledge.
Jackie Gerber
Barbara Romero
The book cover is amazing. The foods look like the “real thing” although as we know they are so much better for us, the animals and world we all share. Great job!
Betsy Cosmos
So excited about this book coming out. Love the design — the photographs give us beauty to aim for while we cook. I’m slowly converting my husband and when I can present a familiar comfort food for supper, he’ll never know how healthy he has it 🙂 Thanks so much for making this book available to those of us who like printed materials and a healthy lifestyle. 🙂

Vegan food all around the world… mhhhh niamaaamy
Michele
Hi Veronica,
I’ve been wanting to let you know how much I enjoy & repect what you are doing.
I’ve been exposed to raw & vegan chef’s a like. I was intrigued by you from the start.
So much so that I do not cook much since I live alone but had to have your recipes. I so enjoy your daily recipes too. When I was purchasing Your Comfort Foods Package with Vegan Comfort Foods From Around The World, Comfort Soups To Keep You Warm, Simply Salad Dressings, & Decadent Smoothies I was bummned there was no hard cover book. However I printed everything out to have handy when I needed. This is the perfect time to say thank you for being you!! For making recipes simple. For being always available to respond quickly to questions I have had. I admire you immensely and you exceed my expectations. I wish you love, health & success always….Michele
Michelle
I’m in love with these recipes and have been making many of them fairly regularly (i.e. the mac n’ cheese casserole). Every year I have Thanksgiving at my house and I enjoy cooking for my family. I would love to have more vegan, low-fat options to serve to them which I know they will enjoy. I’m a visual learner and love to have the pictures and the recipes in front of me when I cook something for the first time. Your book looks esthetically pleasing (we eat with our eyes too!) and makes my mouth water in anticipation of how delicious your recipes are! Thanks Veronica…
Michelle
I think the book looks great and everything looks delicious. I am always looking for delicious low-fat recipes. I try to cook with little or no fat to keep my cholestrol down.
Thanks!
Danielle
I am very excited to hear about the print version of this book! It looks beautiful with so many gorgeous photos and fantastic recipes. I do not have this book but have your soup recipe book and my son says the soups are “heavenly”!
I am a single Mom with three kids. I prefer to eat low- fat vegan and do so for the most part myself. However, my kids are with their father for half the time so eat a traditional North American diet while with him. It is difficult for them to make the transition so I often end up cooking them meals that include meat. I am sure that your Comfort Food book would help tremendously in transitioning them to a healthier way of eating without all the stress and drama. Would love to win it!
Marcia
Well Veronica, you’ve done it again and with class as usual! Looking forward to having a copy of your hold-in-my-hands book of my very own. As many of your fans have said, I too prefer an actual book as apposed to having to read something from my computer (no ipad or other digital reader) so you’ve made me a happy gal! I wish you all the good luck you deserve in this new venture and I’m sending lots of low-fat strength your way!
Sincerely,
Marcia
Julie
The book design is beautiful. I have been vegetarian for a little over a year. I purchased some of your e books and they have been so helpful in guiding me on this journey. I love your recipes & I truly enjoy discovering new foods. I would love to have your book displayed in my kitchen.
Pauline
Veronica, as a book lover I am so glad you have made a printed copy of your book. Love the pictures. As I try to transition from a vegetarian to a vegan diet I can see how your recipes would be a great help in that direction. My husband & friends all love ooey, gooey, cheesy foods & casseroles, this is one area I need a lot of help in when trying to make satisfying, healthy plant based dishes that they will love. Thanks for all you do.
Sintija Ancevska
I started vegan diet a month ago and find it hard at times, because I miss pizzas, cheese, ice cream, steaks and yoghurts..but I am proud to be with the diet and when I see books like Yours with pictures like that -my mouth waters and I want to try all those new to me foods. I really want to give a good try eating this way because I have plenty of reasons to believe that this is the way to be healthy and happy! 🙂

I am proud to say I started vegan diet a month ago..I find it hard sometimes-I miss ice-cream and pizza and steak, but dream of being healthy and happy keeps me going..when I see new foods like this and try new things, I feel empowered to keep going! 🙂
Sharon Thompsen
Veronica, you are such a sweetheart to put this book together for those of us that like to hold a book in our hands. The pictures and colors are beautiful! I have been battling a blood cancer for five years and was ready for treatment when they found out I also have colon cancer. I will be having surgery May 07 for the colon. I really need to get on a plant based diet to try to battle these cancers. God bless you for getting people headed in the right direction.
Low Fat Vegan Chef Veronica
I’m sorry to hear this Sharon! I truly wish you good health and will be hoping for the best for you too.
Sharon Thompsen
Thank you Veronica! There are a lot of people praying for me.
Denise Curtis
I’m thrilled that now you have your book for us non-computer users. I am new to this way of eating and cooking so was happy you have included the how-to, etc. Also having the pictures is great. Your book is going to be well received because it is user friendly and beautiful. I can’t wait to start an eating program from your book. Hope it is available really soon.
Deborah
Way to go Veronica!
You are certainly rising in recognition in your field…first being published in a magazine article and your own printed book! This all gives such validity and confidence in reader as to your powerful message. My husband and I have recently decided to adopt this new lifestyle of eating. Each successful measure we achieve brings us to a more solid ground in knowing our decision was a good one. We started after reading Dr. Furhman’s books. From there, I came in contact with your online website and recipes you offer online. For me, this was just what I was needing. Although we are enjoying the new tastes we are experiencing, it is a hurdle to overcome the thinking (no longer are their cravings, but the “mind” does not let go of what you remember things to taste like) of what you see advertised on TV and billboards, what your friends are eating still. Having the ability to find just a couple of things that are very close to what you remember…the comfort foods!, really does help in satisfying that “desire” that will occasionally pop up. So your recipes are so helpful in keeping someone new to this lifestyle continuing on the path to good nutrition and sound eating. I really thank you for that. My hurdle to overcome has been that all your information has been received on our iPad, which is great…for ME. But my husband is a book person, and I end up having to tell him about it or print out what I really want him to read. Some of this could be that the iPad is always in my possession (big smile) but mostly it is because he loves to curl with a book. He has just never gotten use to the computer age. So having your book to place in his hands over an ebook will greatly enhance “our” success in our new lifestyle. Supporting each other in this new endeavor is tantamount to our success, so I greatly look forward to your first published work!! The sneak peak is enticing with its great display of high-quality, professionally photographed recipes. I do hope you will consider us to win your free book. That would really be a hoot…another first for us…and if it does come to pass…could we get it autographed? Thanks so much for being such a strong voice in the Vegan world 🙂
Low Fat Vegan Chef Veronica
I’m not sure about the autographing thing, as it’s printed in the USA and shipped to a USA warehouse. I’ll have to drive across the border to even get some copies for myself in Canada lol. If I could I would, but I might have to do book signings on trips to the USA or perhaps for some Canadian customers for now once I get some to keep at home. 🙂
I think everyone needs their own Ipad. I never share mine and so everyone gets their own and then everyone is happy on trips! haha.
Mary
My husband and I are loving our vegan lifestyle!!! Exploring new foods, truly having a much more exciting menu than ever before. I agree w the previous comment, that while I am surprised at what I don’t miss, it’s still exciting to be able to make good ole comfort foods healthily. Thank you for doing what you do!
Wendy
Love, Love, Love your recipes but I’m old schooled and prefer cook books – The cover of the book is very eye appealing and would definitely make anyone want to purchase the book. Very good colouring on the cover of the book. Nice to know that each recipe will have a picture – definitely can not go wrong there.
The back of the cover explains what your book is about and would make anyone want to convert to your way of cooking which I can highly recommend over the past year. The fact that you actually let us know how to cook the perfect products helps people who have never cooked them example grains, beans etc., really helps beginners and helps others for making the perfect delicious meals.
Terry
I’m new to the vegetarian diet…from what I see on this site…everything looks delicious! Your book looks like a best seller…Good luck to you
Jeff Sisler
Hey thanks for having such a great recipe archive, and all this righteous work you have been doing to help us all eat great vegan foods in low fat form, look forward to the book
Willy
Hi Veronica,
Thank you for making a printed book. I am old fashioned and prefer to hold a book in my hands when reading. The design is very appealing. The pictures are mouthwatering. I would love to win a copy of this book.
Willy
Patricia
The book looks wonderful! I love that photos are included for each of the recipes. The cover is beautiful and if I saw it sitting on a shelf, I would definitely pick it up and look through it.
I happened to pick up a copy of Dr. Fuhrman’s book, “Eat to Live”, a few months ago. The information really made sense and I decided to overhaul the way I was eating. I happened on your website while I was searching for some new recipes. With 2 teenagers at home, I needed to make sure the food wasn’t “boring” or they were never going to get on board! Without fail, every one of your recipes that I have made has been a big hit! As an added blessing, I lost my job just as we converted to a vegan diet, but my grocery bills have been greatly reduced now that we aren’t eating all the processed foods and animal products. Knowing that every recipe of yours that I attempt will be well received by the whole family and keeps us on the path to wellness has been such a huge help!
I bought your soup recipe e-book and it has become a staple at our house. I would love to have a hard copy of the new recipe book though as it makes it so much easier to have all the recipes on hand when I’m in the kitchen. I would love a copy of the new book to help keep our menus varied and full of healthy food that the whole family loves!
susanna belch
I LOVE it!!!!!…….I think its perfect!! The only thing I would like to see is more glutenfree vegan kid friendly reciepes in the book…thank you and hope we win a copy! God Bless you and lil children everywhere!
Liane
Congratulation to your new book, Veronica. it looks amazing! I’m waiting for a Hardcopy because it is much nicer to flip some pages and look at nice pictures with the grocery list right beside it. Specially now when Summer Season starts, I can picture myself, sitting in my Garden with a healthy green smoothy and looking at your book and make dinner plans.
Great Job!
Mary
I think the design is colorful and eye-catching. The photos in the chapter section seem to run together though. I would say put some space between them, like on the cover, or put a border around them.
I would like to win a copy of this book because I follow a low-fat vegan diet, and I find it so hard to find recipes that fit this lifestyle! Vegan recipes tend to be high in fat. Low fat recipes frequently rely on egg whites and non-fat dairy. Recipes that follow both guidelines are a welcome discovery!
Dolores Scheelen
At 72 I am eager to learn to eat a new way. Both my husband and I feel better on a plant-based diet. I am the primary cook and I need encouragement and new ideas to keep me “on track.” Many vegan foods fail to emphasize whole foods and low fat as you do plus comfort foods provide that extra element of… well, comfort.
Thanks so much for the work you do – as the woman on your cover says, you are saving lives you don’t even know about.
Sandra Bigham
I’m so glad to see that your book has so many photos of the prepared recipes. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words. I would love to win a copy of your book. A little over a year ago I was diagnosed type 2 diabetic. I sorta dismissed it for a while because my husband was struggling with cancer. Sadly he died last August. I knew I had to take hold of my health. So I tried various approaches but found eating vegan was the best for losing weight and bringing my blood sugar down to normal. Comfort food is my favorite and your book sounds like what I need. Thanks.
Low Fat Vegan Chef Veronica
Wow Sandra, I am very sorry for your loss. I have people in my family struggling with cancer as well. 🙁 I wish you all the best and hope that you can heal from your diabetes.
Shay
I love the cover and design of this book! It shows you what to expect inside and gets your stomach rumbling to get cooking on those recipes!! I’m getting hungry just looking at my computer screen. You did a wonderful job designing a cover that will have your book flying off the shelves, I can’t wait to be able to buy one (I will have this book one way or another). I may just get another one or two copies for my relatives so we can have something we all enjoy when we have lunch or dinner together. Okay now I’m beginning to ramble– back to the design. I love it and congratulations on the book
Joy Evans
Love the pictures with each recipe, …..thus, making each recipe appear very enticing!
The cover has a clear/direct appeal.
Thank you for sharing and best wishes on your paper approach to books. I know it will be successful. Joy

We recently had a health scare in our family and have adopted the ‘Eat to Live’ life style. We have completed the six week detox and are blown away by the things we don’t want anymore. Still, there are emotional food cravings and ethnic meals are one of them. We are finding the prep time really time consuming and finding acceptable vegan alternatives to meal favorites impossible to find. We would like to find meals we can prep on the weekends to enjoy after our work day. This book sounds very interesting and helpful. The physical changes have convinced us that we will live this life style for the rest of our lives.
Lisa Sheldon
Diagnosed with MS in 2009 I am a new convert to low fat vegan eating. (A year last month.). My husband and I are already reaping the rewards of better health. Yet I still yearn for the comfort foods I grew up with that so far I haven’t found. I was thrilled and excited to see “Boston Baked Beans”, Fettuccine Alfredo, and others you have listed. Just last night we made Inari pouches. We were inspired by the meal prepared by your daughter. It was delicious! We are buying a share of a CSA this year and appreciate that you discuss the different types of vegetables. We know we will be expanding our taste boundaries and are excited to do it with your help. Thank you so much for the tremendous effort in bringing your book to print.
Sandra Carreno
Dear Veronica,
I love the look of your book. But what has really impresses me is the high quality of the pictures. Whenever I look for a cookbook in the library or elsewhere I feel pictures help me visualize my goal: healthy food that looks attractive to eat. Your book makes me want to get up and go wherever I may need to go to cook something that loooks so good and it will be so good for me. I also think that the list of recipes and the way you grouped them was very convenient. It will be easy to browse and pick. Lastly, there is only one thing that I don’t think makes u justice in this book and neither in ur web page. I have seen u on Youtube and you are a lot prettier than the picture used in the book andyour web page. Maybe all you need to do is try a different angle. It is important that your picture reflects not only your talent but also your true beauty. There are many vegan cook books out there written by young vegan chefs who use a lot of photo shop to sell. This is not your case, all you need is a different angle of your face. Good luck with your book!
Low Fat Vegan Chef Veronica
Hi Sandra
Thank you! Doing photos like this for a print book takes a lot of prep time and photography equipment and props. So I’m so glad I did it for this book. I just have to get around to doing it again for another book! 🙂
Pam Olund
Hi Veronica,
I am very excited about your new book. I’ve been following you for awhile and was interested in your books until I found out they were e-books. Sorry…I’m still old-fashioned and enjoy holding a book in my hands.
You requested comments about the design. I think the design is great. I like the way that the recipes are laid out with the ingredients in the shaded box. This allows my eyes to focus entirely on what I need before getting into the directions.
Good Luck with your book and good luck to me. I hope I win a copy.
Pam
Rosen
The design seems to be simple but in the good way. And the photos are making my stomach crying. I’m a french vegan and it’s very hard to find good book in France. I love eat and imagine recipe. Your website has been a good inspiration for me.
Thank You
Marion Peters
Girl I think I’m just as excited as you wen it comes to your latest success/adventure in foods!
Almost two years ago my doctor told me that if I didn’t do what was necessary to lose this weight I would be in the next dimension in less than five years. I weighed in at my heaviest 268 pounds! My health issues were insurmountable.
I didn’t know what to do I had tried just about every weightloss program and lifestyle change out there and only ended up yo-yoing! The worst thing for the body in te end!
That was the day I watched Dr Joel Fuhrman’s The 3 Steps to Incredible Health and Weightloss! I bought the book, and never looked back I’ve lost 110 pounds so far.
So to see your book come out now and the content of it and what I see; the variety the colorful delicious recipes You bet I’m excited. Variety is the spice of life I want more of it! So the more plant based foods and recipes I can get my hands on the healthier I know I’ll be! It WAS A SERIOUS WAKE UP CALL FOR ME!
Low Fat Vegan Chef Veronica
Thank you! I’m so happy you’re excited too 🙂
Melanie Vittitow
Love the design but I’d love to see you emphasize the “low fat” more. My husband and I have been vegan for 11 months now and after 7 months he was able to be off blood pressure and cholesterol medication and all his numbers are normal! It truly has been a blessing. I’m a triathlete and have actually gained a bit if weight since going vegan and really think it is because I’m getting too much fat in my diet. So I would love to have this book to help us both continue on our vegan LOW FAT journey!! Thanks so much for all you do!
Low Fat Vegan Chef Veronica
Hi Melanie
I’m not sure why you say I need to emphasize low fat more… ALL of my recipes are low in fat and I limit fats to either a little nut milk, a little nuts, or avocado and I try not to put more than 1 of those in a single recipe.
The book cover says:
Low Fat Vegan Chef Presents
Vegan Comfort Foods From Around The World
Over 60 Delicious and Satisfying Low-Fat Plant Based Recipes
There’s no reason to add more low fat to the title as it’s clear.
Melanie Vittitow
Oh sorry! I did not get my message clear. I know your recipes are low in fat and that is why I love about your recipes! I was just merely offering a suggestion about making the words “low fat” bigger. 🙂
Teri
I love the new design. Very eye-appealing! I really enjoy holding a book as I read in bed in the evening. One of my simple pleasures is reading cookbooks in bed and planning future lowfat veggie meals. And as a total lover of all things geography, I need a copy of your book! (As a class project, I once created an imaginary veggie restaurant called “The Global Garden.” ) Thanks for the chance to win!

I am from south Louisiana and learned to cook with tons of fat and sugar. People love my cooking but I know it’s not the healthiest. I am desperate to find a permanent solution to my chronic systemic candida which I have suffered with for years. I had severe staph infection in my spine following a lumbar fusion in 2007 and had IV antibiotics for 8 months which was the beginning of chronic yeast infections and digestive problems. Have been traditional medicine route and issues are worst ever and really miserable. I believe this lifestyle change will finally cure my misery and make me feel better overall however I need guidance and recipe ideas to get started. Your cookbook would be a huge first step in achieving my goals. Thank you for your hard work and willingness to help others.
Sherry
I love it. I have the ebook but would love to have a hard copy. I teach vegan classes and a picture is worth a 1000 words. I tell them about your blog, but to have a book to show, WOW that would be so much better. Then they will want it also.
Thank you for putting it in print.

It looks absolutely mouthwatering. What a gorgeous cover. I also like that you gave specifics about why you need certain ingredients for the best results. I use a shared computer, so I don’t get to download e books. I’m definitely old fashioned when it comes to books of any sort. I like to be able to hold them, and read them over & over. Somehow, it’s not the same on a computer , tablet or phone. Of course, I still like to receive cards or letters in the mail. So much more personal. I would love to win a copy of your book. I already know I like your recipes!
Marge
It is beautiful, Veronica! All your recipes look so delicious, I get hungry just looking at them!
I spend too much time on the computer, so it’s nice to have a book to read away from all the electronic devices.
I hope it is very successful! You deserve it. You are so creative with your recipes and it encourages people to eat healthy, delicious foods.
Thank you for all your work!

Your food looks so delicious, and I believe if I were to win the copy of your amazing looking book I will be able to help transition my husband and step son to a healthier way of eating and living.

Hi Veronica, Congrats on your upcoming book! I am not a vegan but a health conscious senior in Toronto & read all your emails (on your mail list) with interest. Stumbled upon your site accidentally.Tried a few of your recipes & was surprised they’re quite delicious & satisfying. You introduced me to butternut squash & quinoa. Simply put, your book cover illustrates to me & others that meatless doesn’t mean blandness /visually unappealing meals. That’s what I thought. This book would be my ‘1st’ meatless volume & would continue to educate me about health & food. I hope that your new book reaches out to more people my age & everywhere. Keep spreading your goodwill, Veronica! Bye!

The book looks great. I love the organization and the chapters on the ‘tools’ required. My wife is old school and having a real book will really help with inspiring her to join me in my new diet/lifestyle. Bon Appetit!
Mary
Love the look…made me hungry! I look forward to trying the recipes. Congratulations on completion of your new book!
Hallie
I love the captivating photos! Your pictures represent a good selection of the foods that appeal to people. The title of your book is easy to see and in a nutshell, explains what the book is about. I would love a copy of your book as I have just begun my vegan journey (6 weeks) after 51 years of being a carnivore. My father who is 81 has also followed suite and we are both loving it! Howeve, sometimes we both have a craving for comfort food and dont know which recioes to trust. we have enoyed recipes from your website so imz sure your cookbook will be great! I am also involved in Dr. Hans Diehl’s CHIP program and would love to share recipes from your book with my other Chippers.

I really like the cover. It reminds me of Southern Living food photos, plus just reading the titles of the recipes makes my mouth water. I went Vegan January 1, 2013 to improve my health. To date I have lowered my cholesterol 51 points!!!
I celebrate the BIG 50 on May 9 and am excited that my health is better and I have inspired other people to eat better, especially less animal products! I would love to have your book to increase my vegan options!
Have a blessed life!!! Leesha

The cookbook looks beautiful and I would love to win a copy. Although online recipes are great, I always prefer a printed copy of a cookbook. They allow me to to make notes as to what I liked, did not like (hopefully not many of these) and changes I would or have made. I am really looking forward to seeing your cookbook in print.
Dolly Wilson(dolkins
Love it, I have tried a few of the recipes you have put on line would love to try more,
i am trying to get into the vegan way and finding it hard to find easy comfort food recipes such as yours
Keep up the good work

Hi Veronica,
The design of the books looks great…. the pictures are very inviting and it’s nice to have the full recipe on one or two pages with large enough print to see unlike my iPad. I do have your ebook and want to try many dishes cause they look so good but haven’t yet cause my iPad intimidates me… I just haven’t got the hang of it yet. 🙂
By the way I love your daily post and enjoyed reading about your trip to California. I have been trying to follow Dr. McDougall’s principles for the past year and your recipe books fit right in to the program… it’s not easy to find good plant based recipes out there that don’t add oil and fat… so keep up the food work.

The world needs this book and so do I. Having eaten the unhealthy American diet for 56 of my 58 years, I am happy to say my husband and I are vegan and committed to a healthy diet. I am struggling every day to find ways to cook delicious foods. Most websites and cookbooks offer a variety of soups. The preview of your new book is so exciting because it features real food that you can sink your teeth into. Good luck.
Deanna Presley
Since I’m new to vegan eating and cooking, I’m looking forward to seeing your cookbook. I love to cook! When I cook, I primarily make my meals using recipes. This cookbook will be a welcome addition to my new vegan kitchen!!
Dee
The only thing showing on this page is the front and back cover of the cookbook. Chapter sections and Sample page just displays “white space”.
But the cover is great. Love a cookbook with pictures. Those are the only ones I will buy. I’ve been eying your cookbook for a long time, but I dont dare cook near my computer…..lol
Low Fat Vegan Chef Veronica
Hi Dee, perhaps your page did not load correctly. I have checked several times and all of the photos are loading.
Dee
It was my internet connection- firefox. Cuz when I loaded it with internet explorer, all the pics came through. And those pics are great, they make you want to get in the kitchen and start cooking. Thank you for the healthy meals. It will be a great book to give to my friends who are trying to learn to eat healthy.
Gail Dillon
Hello,
I have this ebook and tried some of your recipes. They are delicious! I have to say though that having a hard copy would be much more practical for me and I think I would use it more than the ebook on my tablet. I cook all of my family’s meals for the week on Sundays (except for the sidedishes). So I spend hours cooking between 5 to 7 recipes–it can get messy! A book would definitely make things easier for me in the kitchen.
Carol Jasenko
Oh I love the look of the book . The pictures of the dishes have me drooling as I write this. I have the eBook, but I am an OLD lady and really appreciate holding a cookbook in my hands and reading it like a novel.
I have most of your eBooks, and they are my go-to sources when rice and beans just won’t cut it any more.
I really am impressed with your creativity and wish you the best with this print book.
All the best Carol

WOW Good job! , and what a great “go to” recipie book with a wonderful variety of foods. The cover is great, but the real “gems” are found inside!!! I have the PDF version, and would love a “bood” format.
I can think of several friends this would make a GREAT gift for as well………….
Thanks Veronica for the opportunity to enter your contest.

P.S. Just seen this little green logo on top right of my comment, – is there any chance that we could personalise that? Just an idea. Thanks.

Hi Angie
Yes you can customize your avatar, but you have to do so at this website here http://en.gravatar.com
My photo comes up because it’s linked to my wordpress account (the software I use online to edit my website)

It would be so difficult to choose a “last meal” from these delicious recipes and maybe if I had been cooking from’ Vegan Comfort foods from around the world” it wouldn’t be my last meal!
Angie Stehle
Hi Veronica,
I’m delighted that you’re doing this new book.
What I like most from what I see on this page (apart from the recipes themselves) is that it’s low-fat and “satisfying”.
Because “satisfying” is something that many find difficult to accomplish especially with raw vegan food. We’ve been used to that comforting “full-belly feeling”, and greens and leaves and sprouts etc. just don’t give you that (not overly heavy but) comfortable fullness feeling (that of course suppresses negative emotions, which we don’t really want anymore, once we know about these things!). Anyway, even most raw foodists are not 100% raw but have something cooked once a week, always vegan of course. That’s where your new book will come in very handy.
I’m also impressed by the fact that you’re self-taught! Well done for your inventive spirit and your initiative.
Looking forward to your book, – especially if it would be a gift from yourself!
All the best,
Angie

This book looks great! I am so happy that there is a picture for each recipe. That helps new cooks so much. I am a new vegan (~ three month) and I love it. I love the way my body feels and all the other unexpected pleasant surprises. Becoming strictly vegan was tough. It was really hard not to cheat every so often after having a bad day or hanging out with my non-vegan friends. I got the extra push to be strictly vegan after watching Vegucated. I was not a vegan for animal welfare, it was my doctor that told me to be- but seeing the ethical side of things sealed the deal for me. So, it is much easier now that I have become custom to cooking this way. However, I have tried to make some comfort foods and have failed miserably. I would really like this book becuase 1) I really miss comfort food 2) I am sure that all the recipes are delicious because I have made some of your recipes and 3) there is a brown gravy recipe! YUM!
Thanks for your hardwork. You sure do help me find delicious meals that keep me on the right and I thank you for it.
Low Fat Vegan Chef Veronica
Thanks Laura
Yes I saw Vegucated as well and thought it has a totally different approach to eating vegan but is quite informative for people to be aware of their food choices.
Rhonda Straw
I like the list of recipes and the new design. I love cookbooks. I read them like books. Any new vegan recipe I will try. I’ve never seen the recipes you’ve listed for your new book. I am impressed! Can’t wait to try them. Man, I hope I win.
Evelyn Morales
I love trying out new recipes. And those on the cover look scrumptious. It’s a plus that for each recipe I can see what the finished dish will look like. The visuals are important to me.
Who knows; I might have a new comfort food among these recipes!
Katherine Johnson
As a previous vegetarian trying to become a full time vegan, be always struggled to make the full change because I thought that there would be nothing to eat! I’m so happy that I can eat well and eat tasty foods! Thank you for writing this book! After two years of solid vegetariasnm, I can’t wait to start living a completely vegan life style with the help of your book!
Petra Biedermann
I love your recipes, have used many over time. If I ever need a recipe I go to your website cause I can be sure to find a healthy recipe which tastes extremly good!

I love the variety! The photos are a big help when preparing recipes for the first time. For me the additional tips provide more learning …. like having a cooking teacher by my side! I like the book because in the past I have found it very difficult to find good vegan recipes that everyone in a crowd will enjoy. Your food is delicious to everyone!
Thanks!

Kudos Veronica!
As a healthcare worker (occupational therapist) I see so many people who are unaware of the risks we expose ourselves to, day in day out, by eating the “normal” North American diet.
Your recipes are not only easy to prepare and yummy to eat but they give our bodies the nutrients they need to keep us healthy!
Thank you for helping us, help ourselves

I love your site as it is filled with delightful recipes and inspirational advice. Congrats on your book! I love your bright, inviting and exciting cover. I love how you provided tips for ease and comfort for the “chef”. Your recipes sound and appear delicious and so “do-able”. I would certainly love to have and share your healthful yummy dishes, walking in the direction of greater health, with my hubby. You are wonderful. Keep up your dynamic work. Thank you!
